The Augustus Saint Gaudens National Historical Site, the home, studio and gardens of the famous sculptor and medal and coin designer, are located in Cornish, NH. The grounds are open year-round but the buildings are open only in warm weather. They offer classes in sculpture which apparently include coin design as an option. They also show a daily film in which Laura Gardin Fraser explains the process of creating a medal. Fraser designed the Grant commemorative coins and the Fort Vancouver commemorative half dollar, among many other coins and medals. Her husband James Earle Fraser designed the Buffalo nickel. Husband and wife collaborated on the Oregon Trail commemorative half dollar.
