Welcome to
COINSHOW.com!

Coinshow.com provides comprehensive, trustworthy and conveniently organized on-line coin information and resources for novice-to-expert coin collectors.

The website explores numismatics by region and also connects to a wide variety of information about coin collecting nationally and around the world. Western & Central Massachusetts is the first region to be examined in depth. Neighboring regions are under development.

All the information is free. Coinshow.com uses external links liberally to help you find the information you want. External sites open in new windows. Coinshow.com does not use "cookies" but it is likely that many of the external websites to which it links do.

Profiles of dealers, clubs and shows are based on information provided by the person or organization being profiled, usually during a personal interview. Nonprofit clubs and the shows they sponsor receive free profiles, but for-profit businesses are asked to pay. Coinshow.com tries to present everyone profiled in a positive way.

I began in 1998 by profiling a few local dealers. The first was

Trader Tom (Greenfield, Mass.)
Unfortunately, Tom has since passed away, but I'd like to keep his profile here a little longer. His encouragement and assistance were much appreciated.

I sometimes attend local coinshows, mostly to promote the website. I sometimes sell coins on eBay, where my screen name is "coinshowman".

Thank you for visiting. Please come again.

P.S. Can you help identify this mystery coin?

A medieval or early modern copper coin, about the size of a quarter, with an anchor counterstamp. The other side shows two trees separating the letters "S P". I am unfamiliar with this iconography. I would like to know the time and place of the initial issue and/or any information about the meaning of the counterstamp.
